Corn Maze Fun!

We decide, in the spirit of Halloween, to go to a fun corn maze.  OMG did we get lost, but it was so much fun! :) I had never even seen a corn maze before (besides on tv of course) and don't worry it was just as creepy as in the movies.  Every corner I turned I thought for sure some man with a chain saw would jump out from behind the bushes.  We also got to ride on a fancy hay ride and meet all sorts of sweet cows.  Over all it was a great day...oh man do I love procrastination but I must start on my homework.

Enjoy the pictures & happy sunday funday :)

Chelsea Kane Haircut Time :)

Hello Ladies

It is that time in my life, again, where my hair has grown out (a little above mid-back) and its not time to look young a youthful & dump that frumpy mop on my head formally known as my hair.  I go through phases like most women, one day I want long hair, one day I want short hair.  What can I say, I am a women and not only do I get what I want, but I also have an ever changing taste, hair being my biggest addition.  I have dyed my hair every color in the sun from blonde, to red, to brown, even black.  I am currently back at a very beautiful blonde shade that is different than I have ever had before.  & this is the first color I have ever had for a consecutive six months or more.

Pros to have long hair: When you have long hair you can have lazy days.  Ball your hair up on top of your head and call it at day.  You can go longer between washes.  It keeps you warm in the winter.

Cons to having long hair: You can not ride a motorcycle without having horrible hair burns/stings on your face and in your eyes from the hair whipping in the breeze.  Usually your hair looks boring, non-stylish, shapeless.  Having long hair is a con because, for me, having my hair touching my back all day is seriously itchy, OMG itchy.

Anyways, the list could go on and on, the purpose of this post is to let you know that it's j u s t hair, take chances and experience change.  If the change does not suit you, your hair will grow back and it is not the end of the world.

But even more important than that, this post is happening to let you know that I have decided to turn in my moderate long locks for short Chelsea Kane hair & I am so excited!!

Live life on the edge and don't be afraid of a little change.

Tell me about your big hair cut "risk" that ended well, or not so well,

 Stephanie :)

The Reason I Love This Season

Yummyyyyy.....We are still days away from October and a month away from Halloween and already I have a tummy ache from all of the candy corn I have been consuming.  Candy corn is at the top of my favorites list when it comes to candy(Candy Corn & Candy Canes share the number one spot).

I don't understand why they don't sell this delicious candy all year long.  Seriously!?!?! They could sell it in different shapes so it's not Halloween or fall related so we can still share the joy of the scrumptious candy corn.  I could literally talk days about how many bags I have already eaten, Yikes...Maybe that is why they only sell it once a year...

leave a comment and tell me your favorite type of candy this time of year.

Candy Corn Pumpkins and Chocolate Dreams,

Crocheting- Not Just For Old Ladies Anymore

I know I know, when we think of crocheting we think about our grandma in her rocking chair, making sweaters, dolls, socks, and anything else she can think of.  I am not a grandma but I have recently become very interested and in crocheting and it is so much fun!! Seriously, I wouldn't lie to you.  It is so rewarding to pick up your hook & yarn, and in no time you have a fabulous beautiful hat, or scarf, or whatever else you can think up.  No wonder we have always associated crocheting with grandma, she was keeping the funnest thing out there to herself.  I don't remember exactly what got me started, but I am one of those people who walk through stores that charge an arm and a leg for something "I can make".  That is what got me so into making my own jewelry among other things.  I think I saw a crochet hat that was over 50 dollars that I loved, so I set out on a mission to teach myself and did eventually figure out how to make that 50 dollar hat.  It was such a great feeling of accomplishment.  Anyways, I just wanted to post this so you know, that I am 21 and I love to crochet, I am not a crazy cat lady, and I am not a grandma....see, this sport is for anyone. :)

Have a grand day,

Top 8 Crochet Abbreviations

There are so many abbreviations out there when it comes to crocheting; I have comprised a list of only the most common & most important abbreviations.  Hope this helps you on your crocheting adventures!
TOP EIGHT STITCHES YOU NEED TO KNOW
                                                   St = Stitch
                                                    St = Slip stitch
                                                    SC = Single Crochet
                                                    DC = Double Crochet
                                                    TR/TRC = Treble Crochet
                                                    HDC = Half Double Crochet
                                                    LP ST = Loop Stitch
                                                    WS = Wrong Side
These are the basic stitches to get you started, even the most complex crochet things mainly require these 8 stitches I have listed above.  You may find, when reading patterns on-line, that not everyone understands or uses the correct abbreviations.  Not to say that one way is more correct than another, but if you were to buy a crocheting book or magazine these are the correct abbreviations you would find and follow.  I could go on and on and all the fun stuff in crochet world of abbreviations but I must go for now.

Until next time friends,
Stephanie

It has been almost three weeks since the wedding and OMG does time fly.  Before you know it I will be walking around with a baby on my hip.  The wedding was absolutely beautiful thanks to my wonderful family.  Everything was perfect.  Such a great time, not only for the wedding but I got to meet some of my husbands family that I had never met before.  I'm uploading a video now, but just wanted to share one of my favorite pictures with you for now...

Ta-ta for now, Stephanie :)

6 more days!!!

Six more days until we officially tie the knot!! we are so excited!!

(please ignore my non-existing eyebrows-lol.)
We thought we were ahead of the game and had all of our ducks in a row but I swear the closer the wedding gets, the more little things I realize need to be done.  AHHH! I guess I am starting to get some wedding jitters, not in a bad way though.  More like, I can't believe we are finally getting married after 4 years of dating.  Almost like, I never thought this day would come and now it finally has!!! who would have thought, two high school sweet hearts, would fall in love, and finally marry....with a happy ever after....:)

Countdown...9 more days...

Nervous Jitters?  Only nine more days until we are man & wife and we have never been happier or more excited about the merging of our two families and one life.  For some reason everywhere I go, everyone asks, "are you nervous yet?" what am I supposed to be nervous about?  It makes me nervous thinking I am not nervous and maybe should be.lol.  He and I are only in our twenties, but every where we go people think we are a lot older.  I think its because we dress like old people and asleep by 9.  None of that staying up and partying all hours of the night and doing dumb stuff to get in trouble.  We are completely content on living a quiet life, not to be mistaken for boring :)

This is my most favorite picture of Josh & I at his sisters wedding almost two years ago.  :)

Lots of hugs & love, Stephanie :)

Bahama Breeze :)

I couldn't be more excited to tell you that my wedding in only 11 days away, 11!!!!!  I cant believe it either.  I am not really feeling any nervous jitters that everyone keeps asking me about, more just overwhelmed with enthusiasm and overjoyed at the thought of finally marrying the love of my life, my high school sweetheart.  I never in a million years thought I would find someone so perfect for me, so soon in life, but he really is my rock and I thank God for him everyday.  He is a truly great man...with that being said we are almost more excited about the Bahama getaway than the actual wedding itself (bad i know)lol.  But we are in desperate need of a vacation!! This wedding has really ran us ragged.
Anyways, here is a picture of us happy and well rested on our last cruise about a year ago...

we can not wait to be there again!! we love cruises, they are the way to go if you like to travel.

Huges, Stephanie :)

...& I think to myself, what a wonderful world...

Song choices for the wedding! AHHH! So many songs to choose, who knew I liked so many.  :)
when picking wedding songs its important to remember first- yourself and future spouse, second- the two joining families, and third- your guest.  When picking songs for my wedding I had to be very caution as not to offend anyone as well as have a well rounded selection of song choices.  In my fiance & I's case, he is a little bit country  I am a lot into the 60's decade.  It goes without saying, our taste in music clashes but fortunately he gave me free rein to pick out whatever music my little heart desires :)

Prelude song(when my bridesmaids walk down the aisle):
What a wonderful world- Louis Armstrong
Bride song(untraditional here comes the bride song for when I walk down the aisle):
Marry Me-Train
Song to walk back down the aisle to:
This will be- Natalie Cole
Reception entrance song:
You're my best friend- Queen
First dance:
Can't take my eyes off of you-Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons
Father/Daughter dance:
Cinderella- Steven Curtis Chapman
Mother/Son dance:
A mother's song-T Carter
Cake cutting song:
1,2,3,4- Plain White T's
Bridal Party Dance:
Celebration-Kool and the Gang
Final Song:
So long farewell goodbye- big bad voodoo daddy

Hope this helps if you are in the market for a good wedding song.  It took many trial and error attempts before getting the right mixture of songs.

Cheers, Stephanie :)
